Bishop Schlert announced the following priest transfers, effective June 15, 2021:
Fr. Cieniewicz will become the pastor of the Cathedral of Catharine of Siena, Allentown.
Fr. David Loeper (currently pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish, Pottsville) will become the new pastor of St. Mary Parish.
God’s blessings to both priests as they enter their new priestly assignments. Please pray for all priests involved in the great number of transfers in our diocese this year. Pray also for an increase in vocations to the priesthood for our diocese.
Thanks to all who volunteered, donated and supported our Harvest Fest event in any way!

About St. Mary
We are a Roman Catholic Parish in the Diocese of Allentown.
We invoke the prayers and intercessions of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our patroness, as we seek to be drawn ever more deeply into the Paschal Mystery and the life of her Son, Jesus Christ.
St. Mary Hamburg Parish
Thank you for visiting our website
We hope this site will help you to learn more about our faith community.
St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Parish serves the community and surrounding areas of Hamburg, Pennsylvania, a rural town situated on the banks of the Schuylkill River in the beautiful Blue Mountain chain.
The beginning of the new millennium brought with it the dedication of our new church, a modern, handicap-accessible building situated on a hilltop just west of town. The original church, dedicated by St. John Neumann in 1854, was no longer adequate for our growing faith community. Since the construction of the new church in 2000, the parish has been blessed with the ongoing development of our parish campus situated on almost 30 acres of picturesque land.
If you are vacationing or just visiting the area, please feel welcome at St. Mary’s. We hope you find your electronic visit informative. May the Lord bless you and keep you.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Rev. Donald Cieniewicz
