This is a dollar-for-dollar exchange for card for businesses, such as restaurants, grocery stores, department stores and gas stations. The program benefits the parish facilities fund. You pay face value for the gift card that is then used like cash for your purchases. An inventory of our most popular cards is in stock. Cards for additional vendors are available for order through the parish, as listed at www.shopwithscrip.com.

Be Prepared
Funeral Spiritual Pre-Planning
The time of death of a loved one is always a challenging time for families, regardless of whether the passing of the loved one was expected or not. For funerals at our parish, a preference form is available for either the families or the person him/herself to complete as part of spiritual pre-planning. It is a great relief to family when they have the aid of pre-planned information. In the parish setting, this includes the selection of scripture readings, hymn preferences, viewings in church, etc.
These spiritual concerns can be considered prior to the passing of a loved one. The pastor is available to meet with anyone wishing to pre-plan these spiritual aspects of a funeral. Preferences can be updated at any time. A copy can be provided for your personal records and a copy is kept at the parish.
PASTORAL COUNCIL AND PARISH COMMITTEES
Pastoral Council
Diocesan Guidelines for Parish Pastoral Councils – “One in Mission” – directs that Pastoral Councils and Finance Councils provide the pastor with counsel and a consultative vote on the spiritual life and temporal affairs of the parish. The Council is to cooperate with the pastor with the concerns of the Church’s mission and the processes of evangelization and spiritual renewal.
Parish organizations and committees provide the impetus for the parish to achieve its mission and for parishioners to become involved in parish life. Parish life should have an impact on how the laity, married couples and families witness to holiness.
Our Pastoral Council meets periodically, beginning with a time of prayer. The following committees and activities are represented on the council: Spiritual Life & Liturgy (helps plan opportunities for the spiritual growth of parishioners), Facilities Management (addresses the upkeep and maintenance of parish facilities), Finance Committee (reviews annual budget and finance report; also reviews proposed parish projects concerning parish facilities), PREP Religious Education, Community Outreach, Women’s Guild, Holy Name Society, Music Ministry, Health Ministry (Parish Nurse), Technology, Youth, and Harvest Fest.

The group helps with the setup and serving of meals and refreshments for gatherings and special events, such as, community ecumenical Advent and Lenten service luncheons, parish volunteer appreciation, Live Nativity, Soup Kitchen, and other activities.
This group also coordinates the collection of non-perishable food items for the local food bank. The collections are held four times a year as listed in the weekly bulletin. PREP students collect cereal on an ongoing basis for the local food bank.
SOUP KITCHEN: The parish staffs the soup kitchen in Reading for a weekend on an annual basis.
LOCAL FOOD BANK: The parish collects non-perishable food items throughout the year to support the local food bank. Our PREP students donate breakfast cereals throughout the year.
Let’s give back
Charity Outreach
The parish tithes 5% of the proceeds from our public fundraising by donating to local charities and non-profits, whose missions and activities support the teachings of the Catholic Church. Donations are reviewed by the Finance committee and Parish Council..
“The Saints assert that anyone who prays to the Mother of God in time of temptation will be preserved from sin, and that whoever approaches her with perfect trust throughout his life will surely be saved.”
