Youth & Education
A Catholic Education Saves SoulsYouth Protection and Safe Environment Protections
The diocese and the parish work with parents, civil authorities, educators, employees and volunteers to establish and maintain a safe environment for minors. The parish undergoes a document audit each year to ensure that our records are current.
Our parish fulfills the diocesan requirements to satisfy the Safe Environment Program with the following required of parish employees and volunteers that interact with children and youth: background checks, Protecting God’s Children workshop attendance, student education in our PREP program, and a parish Safe Environment Coordinator (Marie Dooley).

Service Projects
Most secondary schools require service hours for their students. There are various ongoing needs at the parish that could be used as a project. Contact Fr. Dave with your ideas or to discuss needs around the parish.
Catholic Schools
Due to the large expanse of the area of the parish, students attend a number of area Catholic schools. These include: Holy Guardian Angels (Reading), Assumption BVM (Pottsville), Lebanon Catholic, and Berks Catholic HS (Reading) and Nativity BVM HS (Pottsville).
PARISH POLICY FOR CATHOLIC SCHOOLS: Our parish assists families through a parish subsidy for students attending Catholic elementary schools. The subsidy is paid only for actively participating families and those that regularly the support the parish. A copy of this policy is available upon request.
